Quest Thermal’s IMLI finalist for “Coolest Thing Made in Colorado”

Coolest Thing Made in Colorado – 2024

The Colorado Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for its third annual Coolest Thing Made in Colorado competition.  “This year’s impressive top finalists represent just how diverse and vibrant our manufacturing community is across the state,” said Colorado Chamber President and CEO Loren Furman. “We’re proud to showcase products made right here in Colorado and highlight how vital the manufacturing industry is to our state’s economy. The Colorado Chamber looks forward to celebrating these innovations and the positive impact they have on our community.”

The finalists were chosen by an independent selection committee who reviewed and assessed each nomination. The Coolest Thing Made in Colorado top ten finalists included Quest Thermal’s IMLI.

Why is Integrated MLI (IMLI) “The Coolest Thing Made in Colorado”?

Quest’s IMLI must be the “coolest thing”, as it routinely keeps liquid hydrogen at -425F!  That’s 20 degrees above absolute zero.  NASA, and upcoming missions to the moon, to deep space and to Mars all rely on this powerful technology and product to store and protect very, very cold items like rocket propellants and liquid oxygen for astronauts.  Oh, and IMLI is protecting the next Hubble space telescope (Roman Space Telescope) that will directly see planets around other stars, and the NASA Near Earth Object Surveyor space telescope that is watching out for asteroids on a collision course with Earth.

Think your working day is hard?  IMLI protects lunar rovers that go from +300F during the day to -250F during the long (14 days) night.

IMLI will also one day insulate liquid hydrogen tanks that power airplanes and air taxi’s, with zero emissions.

And, finally, if this is not cold enough for you, IMLI also insulates liquid Helium tanks for scientific instruments, keeping them at only 4 degrees above absolute zero.

What’s the coolest thing made in Colorado?  IMLI!
